Paleo Challenge – Week Three

Last week was super tough. I still had cravings, my stomach was upset, and cooking and prepping was taking up a lot of time.  You could say, I was hitting the wall.

But somewhere between week 2 and week 3, a shift happened.  I feel so much better.  My energy levels are great. I wake up way before my alarm, well rested.  Some of you are laughing because I’m an early riser by nature so now instead of 5AM, I’m looking at the clock at 4AM. But I just read that 4AM is the most productive hour of the day, so, this could be a very good thing.

Perhaps the biggest change, and I’m being cautiously optimistic here, is that I’m experiencing a significant reduction in hot flashes. Yeah, I’m at that age and I don’t want to take any drugs for it. That alone would be a huge motivator to stick with the Paleo approaches.

I’m traveling again this weekend but so far that has not been an obstacle.  I made sure I have snacks and fruit and although I am eating out I’m making wise choices and substitutions. I’m not tempted by the bread or rice at this point, I just don’t eat that stuff anymore – yippee!

With just over a week to go, I’m confident in finishing strong and taking many Paleo principles forward.  It’s been a tough, eye-opening experience to overhaul my eating habits in 30 days but I find I think a lot more about what I’m eating now – no mindless eating. This is a great way to start off 2017!

It’s not too late to jump in and start on your 30 days.
